What should I be looking for in a coach?

The purpose of finding a coach isn’t to find someone who is better than you, it’s to work with someone who understands the “game” that you are playing, who can identify your blind spots and suggest specific actions and strategies to move from where you are to where you want to be.

Every person holds limiting beliefs mentally and physically about what they can and cannot accomplish. By breaking the limiting belief you set yourself free to get to the next level.

Working with a life coach isn’t about finding some guru who knows everything and can tell you how to live your life. It’s about finding someone who has the knowledge and skill set to help you analyze where you are, figure out where you want to be, and help you bridge the gap between those two places.

A life coach doesn’t need to be smarter, richer, or more successful than you are. They simply need to have the experience and skill set required to ask the right questions, identify the limiting beliefs and habits that are holding you back from your goals, and then help you break those false beliefs and bad habits.

Life coaches are simply professionally trained individuals who can see things that you can’t, hold you accountable to your word and help you achieve results faster.

Will coaching work for me? Isn’t this just another scam?

Oh yea! Make no mistake. There is a big scam in here…

All industries have scams in them. Just think about our global financial services, internet services, payment services, advertising services, medical services… We trust them all even though they all have scams!

But with coaching, the scam is NOT what you think it is.

The real scam in the life coaching industry is not the fake gurus, the b.s. practitioners, the know it all be it all making money specialists.

The real scam of the life coaching industry is the clients who think that paying someone to talk to for 30 minutes a week will suddenly change their lives and transform them into happy successful people. Somehow they think it is like buying a flashy motorbike and thinking all the girls are drooling about them… It definitely helps, but it certainly isn’t everything.

People all over the world are paying good money to be able to claim that they are being coached. Only to quit 2 months into the program because they are not getting the results they expected.

But when you dig deep into the reasons why is becomes evident that the lack of results have nothing to do with their coach or with the industry. It is due to their lack of action and responsibility!

The simple and uncomfortable fact you have to accept before hiring a coach is that “Nothing will change unless you do!”

No amount of money or time spent on the best coach available can bring about change because it is simply not enough. For change to happen, every session requires you to be present with a willingness to be honest and to actually take the actions you decided on. But if you don’t take action on what they share with you and commit to implementing everything you learn, your results will never change and you will end up worse off than you were before the coaching began and blame it all on the coach.

Remember the old Einstein saying “insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results”.

Yes, life coaching is expensive. It’s an INVESTMENT. But it’s less expensive than spinning your wheels to try and move your life forward. It’s less expensive losing finite time that you’ll never get back.

The choice is yours.

You can invest in yourself now and make the sacrifices that need to be made.

Or you can do what you’ve been doing for years and continue to get the same results.

Is coaching on Skype as effective as in person?

The answer to this lies very much in the dynamics present during the coaching session. Critical elements are trust, openness, being present, active listening, being focused, sincerity, honesty, willingness to change, etc.

None of these elements are dependent on both parties to be in physical proximity of each other?

The convenience an online session brings provides the opportunity for more flexibility. You could have your session in the privacy and comfort of your own home or simply during a lunch break at the office!

How often would we meet?

I recommend to have coaching sessions every two weeks.

The time between the sessions creates the ideal balance between having enough time to ‘digest’ the previous session and to execute on any actions agreed on.

What can I expect from a coaching session with you?

As your coach, it will be my mission to facilitate your journey by creating a safe space for you to fully experience and explore your situation freely and truthfully, without any judgement.

I cut through to wood and ask questions that evoke deep reflection on who you truly are and what really matters to you. The aim is to change your limiting beliefs about what is possible in your world into commitments and actions that will enable you to live the life that is in agreement with your values and your life purpose.

I will guide you to identify the b.s. stories, those internal narratives which are the biggest traps holding you back and to being brutally honest towards yourself.

Together we will put an end to talking about your vision and goals all day and turn them into reality.

I will coach you to LIVE the life you desire!
